Tl dr - there's plusses and minuses to the PHawk. Of course, that's with original tabletop heat rules. In other BT news, there's gonna be a Kickstarter for tabletop BattleTech: Clan Invasion box set expansion for BattleTech: A Game of Armored Combat (that's the name of the newest normal box set). With full jump, that's (20 heat - 10 sinks = 10) for the PH, and (20 heat - 16 sinks = 4) for the Vindi. This canonizes the game and the faction in broad strokes fashion to mainline BattleTech. (LLas, 2x MLas, 2xMG) vs (PPC, LRM5, MLas, SLas + 6 heatsinks) But, yeah - it's a bit faster & better armored than the AA. Ive got a line on a really juicy opportunity out on Electra, but I need to check it out in person to be sure. And a lot less heatsinks - it'll overheat like a furnace if you tried jumping & firing it's guns. Looks like it's got a little less armor than the regular Vindi, a bit less weapons, and a much faster engine & more jets. Had to go look up my old tabletop record sheets to remind myself of the PHawk's stats. The P-Hawk even works better as a scout and harasser with only a slight alteration to it's stock build.

Ironically a mod introduces the Pheonix Hawk and it beats out the Vindy AA by such a wide margin it's so damn sad. TLDR they tried making the mech faster, but it wasn't worth being so squishy. Unfortunately speed is no substitute for armor on the modern battlefield and the variant proved to be a failure a few 1AA variants were eventually 'gifted' to the Free Rasalhague Republic. The weapons payload remains the same as the 1R version.
